The terminal, located in the heart of the Adriatic, is to accommodate growing demand and to become the future interchange platform between sea and rail on the intersection of Baltic, Adriatic and Mediterranean railway. /p pYour gateway in the Adriatic to Europe. /p h3Head of Equipment /h3 pbDescription of the position: /b /p pThe Head of Equipment Maintenance is accountable for the end‑to‑end governance, availability, safety, lifecycle optimisation, and cost efficiency of all terminal equipment and technical assets at HHLA PLT Italy. /p pThe role provides strategic and operational leadership over engineering, maintenance, and technical projects, ensuring alignment with HHLA Group standards, local regulatory requirements, and terminal operational objectives. The position acts as the single point of accountability for equipment reliability, CAPEX planning, outsourced maintenance performance, and technical risk management, reporting directly to the COO. /p h3Equipment Strategy Asset Lifecycle Management /h3 ul liDefine and implement the terminal equipment strategy, covering acquisition, utilisation, maintenance, refurbishment, and end‑of‑life. /li liOwn and continuously update the Asset Roadmap, ensuring alignment with volume growth, service mix, and LG expansion. /li liEnsure optimal balance between owned, leased, and rented equipment, maintaining operational flexibility. /li liDrive standardisation in line with HHLA Group technical guidelines. /li /ul h3Maintenance Governance Reliability /h3 ul liEstablish and enforce preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance frameworks. /li liApprove and monitor annual maintenance plans, ensuring equipment availability targets are met. /li liEnsure strict governance of outsourced maintenance providers, including KPIs, SLAs, cost control, and contractual compliance. /li liAct as final authority for technical deviations, emergency repairs, and equipment availability trade‑offs impacting operations. /li /ul h3Safety, Compliance Risk Management /h3 ul liEnsure full compliance with HSSE regulations, HHLA safety standards, and applicable ISO frameworks (9001, 14001, 45001). /li liOwn technical risk assessments related to equipment, including: ul liApproval of deviations to risk assessments and SOPs /li liSwitching of mains and critical technical interventions /li liLead technical incident and near‑miss investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and systemic corrective actions. /li liActively contribute to the Safety Culture implementation, particularly in maintenance and contractor environments. /li /ul /li /ul h3Digitalisation Performance Management /h3 ul liEnsure correct and consistent use of asset and maintenance management systems (e.g. CMMS/MMS). /li liDrive data‑driven equipment performance management through: ul liAvailability, MTBF, MTTR, cost, and safety KPIs /li liDashboards and reporting to HHLA PLT Management and HHLA International Management /li liSupport integration with terminal systems (TOS, planning, HSSE tools). /li /ul /li /ul h3Strategic Projects Expansion /h3 ul liLead and govern technical and equipment‑related projects, including: ul liNew equipment introduction /li liInfrastructure interfaces /li liModernisation, automation, and sustainability initiatives /li /ul /li liCoordinate closely with the LG expansion project, ensuring technical readiness and operational integration. /li liEnsure smooth handover of projects into operational maintenance. /li /ul h3Financial Accountability /h3 ul liOwn CAPEX and OPEX related to equipment and maintenance. /li liPrepare and justify investment proposals, lifecycle cost analyses, and replacement strategies. /li liMonitor budget performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions. /li liDrive cost optimisation without compromising safety, compliance, or service quality. /li /ul h3Stakeholder Group Coordination /h3 ul liAct as primary interface with: ul liCOO and HHLA PLT Management /li liHHLA International / HIG technical functions /li liOEMs, service providers, and regulatory bodies /li /ul /li liContribute to Group‑wide technical initiatives, benchmarking, and standardisation. /li /ul h3People Management Industrial Relations /h3 ul liDevelop technical leadership capability within the team. /li liEnsure competency development, succession planning, and performance management. /li liCooperate with HR on workforce planning and training strategies. /li liSupport management of industrial relations, particularly where maintenance activities liBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred). /li liMinimum 10 years’ experience in port, logistics, or heavy industrial maintenance environments. /li liAt least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing multidisciplinary technical teams and outsourced service providers. /li /ul h3Technical Skills Knowledge Required /h3 ul liStrong expertise in terminal equipment (Ro‑Ro, container, yard, rail). /li liProven experience in asset lifecycle management and CAPEX planning. /li liKnowledge of ISO management systems and regulatory compliance. /li liStrong understanding of maintenance digitalisation and performance systems. /li /ul h3Behavioral Competences Required /h3 ul liLead and govern technical and equipment‑related projects, including: ul
