Join ORiS and help build the future of energy in space. As a Senior Space Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the development of a pioneering mission aimed at demonstrating laser-based Wireless Power Transmission between satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
You will play a key role in transforming innovative concepts into operational space systems, supporting both this flagship mission and future space programs that will redefine how satellites are powered and operated in orbit.
As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will drive system-level decisions, coordinate technical activities across multiple disciplines, and contribute to the successful delivery of the first Wireless Power Transmission satellite.
What You Will Do
• Lead system engineering activities throughout the complete spacecraft development lifecycle
• Define, manage, and maintain system requirements
• Develop spacecraft architectures, interface definitions, and technical budgets
• Perform trade-off analyses and support critical technical decision-making
• Coordinate activities across mechanical, electrical, software, AOCS, thermal, and payload engineering teams
• Support integration, verification, validation, and qualification activities
• Contribute to major project milestones including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and Acceptance Reviews
• Identify technical risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
• Support stakeholders interactions and ensure compliance with mission and program requirements
What We Are Looking For
• At least 5 years of experience in Space Systems Engineering or spacecraft development programs, otherwise, you have been involved in at least 3 space missions that successfully progressed through development, launch, and in-orbit operations.
• Experience in requirements engineering, interface management, and Verification & Validation activities
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering methodologies and ECSS standards
• Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Fluent English (C1/C2 mandatory)
Nice to Have
• Experience with MBSE methodologies
• Knowledge of DOORS, Jama, Capella, or equivalent requirements management tools
• Experience with STK, MATLAB, or mission analysis tools
• Previous experience in space startups, commercial space companies, or institutional space programs, with demonstrated involvement in missions successfully launched and operated in orbit.
• Familiarity with satellite platforms, payload integration, or in-orbit operations
