Platform Engineer

We are looking for a passionate Platform Engineer to join our Team in Milan and help us build scalable, secure and developer-friendly cloud platforms.

Required Skills

• DevOps mindset. You are passionate about improving software delivery, automation and developer experience. You have at least 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer (or similar role) and a previous background in software development. 
• Automation first. You have strong experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Jenkins or equivalent solutions. 
• Cloud expertise. You have hands-on experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform). Cloud certifications are considered a plus. 
• Infrastructure as Code. You are confident provisioning and managing infrastructure using Terraform or equivalent IaC tools. 
• Containers & Orchestration. You have solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including production deployments and troubleshooting. 
• Backend development skills (mandatory). You have working knowledge of at least one backend technology stack , choosing between:
  • Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript) 
  • Java (Spring Boot or equivalent) 

You are comfortable reading, debugging and contributing to backend services when needed.

• AI-assisted Engineering. You are familiar with modern AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Gemini or similar) and know how to use them effectively to:
  • accelerate infrastructure provisioning; 
  • generate Infrastructure as Code; 
  • support software development; 
  • troubleshoot production issues; 
  • automate repetitive engineering tasks. 
• Problem solving. You enjoy troubleshooting distributed systems and identifying root causes across applications, infrastructure and networking. 
• Linux proficiency. You have strong knowledge of Linux-based environments. 
• English. You are proficient in written English and comfortable communicating in spoken English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with GitOps practices. 
• Experience with Docker Swarm. 
• Experience with ECS. 
• Experience with Traefik, Nginx or Apache. 
• Experience with Helm. 
• Experience with Elastic Stack, OpenSearch or similar observability platforms. 
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana and modern monitoring solutions. 
• Experience with security best practices (Secrets Management, IAM, container security, vulnerability scanning). 
• Experience working in Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban. 

What You Will Do

• Design, build and evolve modern cloud-native platforms supporting enterprise applications. 
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows and Infrastructure as Code.
• Improve Developer Experience by building internal tooling and self-service capabilities. 
• Collaborate closely with software engineers throughout the software delivery lifecycle. 
• Support development teams in designing scalable, resilient and observable applications. 
• Use AI-powered engineering tools to improve productivity in infrastructure management, software development and incident resolution. 
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, security and operational excellence. 
• Participate in troubleshooting complex production incidents and root cause analysis. 
• Mentor junior engineers and share engineering best practices. 
• Contribute to the evolution of our technology stack and engineering standards.

What we offer

The salary range for this position is between €34.000 to €40.000 gross per year , depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, and level of seniority.

The employment level and contractual classification will be defined during the selection process, based on the selected profile and in compliance with applicable regulations and the Italian Metalworking Industry Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanici Industria) .

The salary indicated refers exclusively to the Gross Annual Salary (RAL - Retribuzione Annua Lorda) .
