Within this mission, the ICT and Digitization Department at HT is expanding and seeking professionals with specific expertise in virtualization related tasks. /p h3Your mission /h3 pAs bSenior Virtualization Engineer /b you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of the institute's virtualization and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments. The successful candidate will ensure the performance, availability, security, and scalability of virtualization platforms, supporting business‑critical applications, research, and enterprise ICT operations. You will lead strategic initiatives, automation efforts, and cross‑functional collaboration to enhance infrastructure efficiency and resilience and reports to the Core Services Manager. /p h3Grow Your Skills /h3 ul liArchitecting, deploying, and managing virtual infrastructure environments (hypervisors, orchestration, virtual storage, virtual desktop infrastructure); /li liEnsuring high availability, resource optimization, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies; /li liOptimizing hypervisor clusters, virtual networking, and storage for maximum efficiency; /li liDefining and enforcing virtualization best practices for performance, security, and lifecycle management; /li liDeploying and managing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, including Connection Servers, Virtual Access Gateways and Application Volumes; /li liOptimizing desktop pools, image management, and user experience for VDI environments; /li liImplementing automation and scripting to streamline VDI operations; /li liTroubleshooting VDI and Virtual Application performance issues, including latency, GPU acceleration, and storage bottlenecks; /li liDeveloping automation for virtual infrastructure deployments, provisioning, and configuration management; /li liLeveraging scripting models such as PowerCLI, Terraform, and Ansible for infrastructure automation; /li liStreamlining VDI onboarding and scaling processes through scripting and orchestration tools; /li liEnsuring compliance with ICT security policies, regulatory standards, and virtualization vendors security hardening guidelines; /li liCollaborating with CyberSecurity team to harden hypervisor hosts, and VDI access policies; /li liImplementing Zero Trust security models for VDI access and endpoint management; /li liLeading virtualization and VDI infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management projects; /li liLeading the diagnosis and resolution of complex virtualization-related incidents to minimize downtime; /li liConducting root cause analysis (RCA) and implement proactive measures to prevent recurring issues; /li liMonitoring hypervisor clusters, VDI resource utilization, and capacity trends to optimize performance; /li liMaintaining up‑to‑date virtualization and VDI documentation, configurations, and operational procedures; /li liEstablishing and enforce VDI deployment standards, policies, and operational guidelines; /li liConducting training sessions and mentor members of the ICT team to enhance team capabilities. /li /ul pHuman Technopole supports career development through training, mentoring and dedicated learning opportunities. /p h3Essential /h3 h3What you’ll bring /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; /li liMinimum of 5 years in VMware infrastructure engineering, virtualization architecture, or end‑user computing (EUC); /li liExpert‑level knowledge of virtualization systems such as (VMware, OpenStack, Hyper‑V or others); /li liStrong experience with VDI infrastructure and Application Volumes (Horizon or others); /li liUnderstanding of networking (Virtual Distributed Switches - vDS, VLANs) and storage (vSAN, NFS, iSCSI) technologies; /li liAbility to lead VDI strategy, architecture, and large‑scale deployments; /li liFluency in English (written and spoken); /li liWillingness to relocate to Italy. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; /li liProficiency in automation scripting/systems such as PowerCLI, vRealize Automation (vRA), Terraform, Ansible or similar; /li liVMware Certified (VCAP) – Data Center Virtualization (VCAP‑DCV); /li liCitrix Certified Associate, Virtualization (CCA‑V); /li liAzure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104); /li liRed Hat Certified Specialist in Virtualization or similar; /li liITIL certified. /li /ul h3Organizational and social skills /h3 ul liStrong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution; /li liAbility to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines; /li liExcellent written and verbal communication skills for cross‑departmental collaboration; /li liProactive, self‑motivated approach to continuous improvement; /li liStrong team player with a collaborative mindset; /li liFlexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment and willingness to embrace new challenges. /li /ul h3Why Human Technopole /h3 pHT offers an international and dynamic workplace, competitive welfare provisions, flexible working policies and relocation support.
