As head of the property's sales department, you drive revenue from bookings and local catering through strategic leadership of the sales team. You align sales efforts with the brand and Marriott standards, building long-term, value-based relationships with customers. You shape property-level sales strategies, collaborate with Area and Group Sales, and optimize channels to grow occupancy and RevPAR. - Develop and execute strategic account plans for market demand generators
- Lead the property's reactive and proactive sales efforts
- Use market intelligence and STAR reports to adapt sales strategy
- Monitor market position via competitive insights and research
- Collaborate with Area Sales and Group Sales to deploy accounts
- Represent the property to GM, leadership, and sales channels as key contact
- Drive cross-functional partnerships with RM, Events, and Marketing
- Support crisis communications and adherence to Marriott brand standards
- Oversee sales-to-operations turnover and post-sale service delivery
- Manage marketing budget for property campaigns and collateral
- Foster partnerships with local organizations and community events
- Provide leadership to sales associates and ensure achievement of booking goals
- Recruit, develop, and retain talent; implement performance management
- Forecast talent needs and align with HR for staff development
- Promote winning catering solutions through training and tools
- Monitor and improve customer service quality and loyalty
- Drive revenue growth while controlling costs and ROI for owner/brand
- 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related; 4 years in sales/marketing OR 4-year degree in related major; 2 years in sales/marketing
- preferred: 4-year college degree; supervisory experience; lodging sales experience; progressive hotel industry track record
