Senior Staff Product Designer - AI

Overview

In this role you will lead the design vision for Deel's AI vertical, shaping AI-powered experiences across Deel's platform. You'll own end-to-end design strategy for Deel AI, Akai, conversational interfaces, agents, and developer tools, spanning in-chat flows to proactive notifications and human-in-the-loop interventions. You'll collaborate with the Principal Designer to ensure a coherent, intelligent system and guide a growing design team to deliver high-impact AI experiences. Responsabilità

• Lead AI design strategy for Deel AI, Akai, conversational interfaces, agents, labs, and developer tools
• Establish craft standards for AI interactions and ensure coherence across AI experiences
• Drive cross-team collaboration within the AI vertical and with design system, engineering, product, and leadership
• Own outcomes with prioritization and trade-offs to unblock teams and maintain momentum across AI portfolio
• Champion user research and customer insights, and shape AI design direction with market analysis
• Coach and grow the design team, mentoring designers and promoting repeatable approaches
• Shape design org culture within the AI vertical and invest in talent development

Requisiti fondamentali

• 8+ years as a Product Designer in a fast-paced environment
• 3+ years at Staff level or above
• Deep experience designing AI-powered products including conversational interfaces and intelligent automation
• Portfolio demonstrating AI/ML product design and zero-to-one to scaling experience
• Strong UI/UX/interaction/visual design skills for complex workflows
• Ability to collaborate with ML engineers and researchers on interaction models and trust calibration
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Data-informed, research-driven design mindset
• Knowledge of payroll, HR, fintech, or compliance domains is a plus
• Outstanding communicator and facilitator
• Mentoring and growing designers
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity
• AI/ML product design patterns (prompt design, conversational UX, agentic workflows)
• Human-in-the-loop design
• Trust calibration in AI interfaces
