Experteer Overview
In this role you will join Siemens’ Factory Automation service team in Milan to deliver on‑site installation, commissioning, and support of automation systems. You help ensure reliability and performance of machines and production lines, collaborating with customers, OEMs, and internal teams to install, troubleshoot, and optimize solutions. You will drive retrofit and modernization projects and contribute to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. - Install, commission, and troubleshoot Factory Automation systems (SIMATIC PLCs, HMIs, drives, industrial PCs)
- Perform on‑site service activities at OEMs and end customers
- Manage retrofit and modernization projects for machines and automation systems
- Develop/modify software using STEP 7 and TIA Portal
- Configure and tune drive systems (SINAMICS, Startdrive/Starter) and motion control
- Support machine commissioning, optimization, and performance improvement
- Integrate systems within digitalization frameworks (connectivity, data acquisition, basic IIoT)
- Provide technical support to customers, hotline, and back‑office teams
- Coordinate with engineering, sales, and project management; prepare technical documentation and service reports
- Travel for on‑site activities (national and potentially international)
- Ensure adherence to Siemens standards in customer communications and deliverables
- Experience in Field Service or automation engineering; machine/production line commissioning is a plus
- Knowledge of SIMATIC PLCs (S7‑300 / S7‑1500), STEP 7, and TIA Portal
- HMI systems and industrial communication networks knowledge
- Drive technology knowledge (SINAMICS, Startdrive/Starter)
- Experience with machine automation in OEM or discrete manufacturing environments is a plus
- Motion Control or CNC (SINUMERIK) experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and in teams; strong prioritization and customer expectation management
- Structured, proactive, and solution‑oriented mindset
- Willingness to travel for on‑site work (national and potentially international)
- English and Italian proficiency
