THERAPEUTIC MEDICAL SCIENTIST (MSL) - NORTHEN ITALY

Pharma Point, on behalf of Cytokinetics, is looking for a Therapeutic Medical Scientist (MSL) to join the Medical Affairs team in Italy. Territory: Northern Italy Preferred location: Lombardy Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercialising first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors for diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. As a leader in muscle biology, the company is advancing innovative small-molecule therapies designed to directly impact myocardial function and contractility. Cytokinetics is currently building and expanding its Italian affiliate, offering the opportunity to join the organisation at an important stage of growth. The Role Reporting to the Associate Medical Director Italy, the Therapeutic Medical Scientist will act as a key field-based scientific expert across Northern Italy. The role will focus on building high-quality scientific relationships with KOLs, healthcare professionals and specialist cardiology centres, while supporting the implementation of the local medical strategy in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and the broader cardiovascular area. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain high-quality scientific partnerships with KOLs and HCPs across the assigned territory. Lead scientific exchange and identify unmet medical needs within cardiovascular disease, with a particular focus on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Act as a scientific expert at congresses, investigator meetings and other relevant scientific events. Maintain a strong and up-to-date understanding of the disease area, clinical data, treatment guidelines and competitive landscape. Support clinical development activities, including interaction with investigators and involvement in research projects. Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Clinical, Market Access and Commercial colleagues to support the execution of the medical strategy. Contribute to medical education initiatives, scientific programmes, publications and internal training activities. Generate and communicate field insights to support account planning, local medical plans and strategic decision-making. Ensure the timely and compliant management of medical information requests and pharmacovigilance-related activities. Prepare field medical plans, congress reports and competitive intelligence updates. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of activities in company systems. Requirements Scientific degree, such as PhD, MD, PharmD or equivalent. Previous experience as an MSL; experience in cardiovascular disease is strongly preferred. Exposure to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, heart failure or other specialist cardiovascular areas would be considered an advantage. Strong scientific communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and fast-growing affiliate environment. Good knowledge of applicable compliance requirements, including AIFA and Farmindustria principles. Fluent Italian and English. Availability to travel across Northern Italy, approximately 30–50% of the time. Residence in Lombardy is strongly preferred. Compensation The expected base salary range is €70,500–€94,000 gross per year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus participation in the Company’s equity plan.
