JUNIOR AUTOMATION ENGINEER

NIDEC Conversion is hiring a/an automation junior engineer for Genova site.

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Supports the design, implementation, testing and commissioning of PLC and SCADA/operator interface software for industrial automation solutions, primarily in steel plant automation and port quay electrification (cold ironing).

Works under the supervision of experienced automation engineers, contributing to development, testing and commissioning activities while progressively building technical competence and project autonomy.

PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Under guidance of senior engineers:

· Support analysis of project specifications and functional requirements.

· Participate in development and configuration of PLC and SCADA software.

· Support preparation of validation procedures, reports and technical documentation.

· Participate in integration of software with automation hardware and industrial communication networks.

· Participate in testing, debugging and validation activities.

· Participate in commissioning activities

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and LANGUAGES

Education and Qualifications

Technical high school diploma in Information Technology or Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Automation. Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Industrial Automation considered an advantage.

Experience

0-3 years, including internships, apprenticeships or university projects

Languages

· Italian: C1 / C2 – Full professional proficiency (spoken and written)

· English: B2 – Professional working proficiency (spoken and written)

CORE COMPETENCIES

Required knowledge includes:

· Basic knowledge of PLCs preferably Siemens platforms

· Basic knowledge of SCADA systems (WinCC, InTouch, Zenon or equivalent).

· Fundamentals of industrial communication networks.

· Basic understanding of electrical systems, sensors, actuators, motors and drives.

· Basic ability to read electrical diagrams and technical documentation.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
