In this role, you will build and deliver quantum optimization solutions for customer applications while working with delivery leads, applications developers, and other solutions architects within the professional services department. /p pAdditionally, you will work with our internal teams and external customers to review customer business problems, map these problems to D-Wave’s hybrid solvers and advanced quantum systems, formulate solutions, build and test prototypes, and build applications that run-in production for our customers. /p h3What You’ll Do /h3 ul liBuild customer applications on the D-Wave quantum computer and internal tools /li liEnsure successful delivery of projects to achieve business value for customers /li liCommunicate capabilities with customers and ask probing questions to understand the problem and propose solutions /li liGather requirements on customer use cases, lead brainstorming sessions, consult with customers on potential solutions, model use cases mathematically, and design and develop quantum hybrid applications /li liBuild and maintain relationships with leaders across various groups within D-Wave /li liShare customer and project-related insights with D-Wave's tools and product teams and help prioritize new product features /li liOrganize, prepare, and present technical information in a clear and effective manner /li liParticipate in the development of an inclusive, helpful, fun environment /li /ul h3About You /h3 ul liMasters, PhD, or equivalent in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical fieldpreferred /li liA professional with 5+ years experience with Python. Knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx is an extra bonus! /li liExperienced working directly with external customers (ideally in a consulting role) to identifyrequirements and consult on solutions to complex business problems /li liExperienced using leading optimization tools (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi, etc.) /li liPractical with a view of what it means to solve customer problems, with a strong sense of urgency and an understanding of project delivery requirements /li liStrong knowledge of mathematical modeling and optimization solution techniques /li liExperience with a version control software such as Git /li liExperience building applications to solve complex business problems for customers in a production environment /li liCollaborative mindset and solid interpersonal skills /li liPassionate for writing state-of-the‑art Python code /li liExperience providing technical leadership from business problem definition, functional requirements specifications, to solution design and implementation /li liProven record of successful on‑time delivery of projects with a high degree of predictability and quality /li liPreferably experienced within industries such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail, Services /li liPlease note that this role may start as 100% remote and then transition to a hybrid role with Milan as the location. /li /ul h3A D-Waver's DNA /h3 ul liWe look at the future and say “why not”; we see possibilities where others see problems or routines.
