Senior Data Center Operations Engineer

ppWe are looking for an experienced Data Center Operations Engineer to join our growing team in Milan and help shape the future of our flagship project, Colosseum, one of Europe’s most powerful AI supercomputers, currently in development. /p pDesigned to run our proprietary AI models at scale, it forms the compute backbone behind the intelligence we deliver to the world’s most demanding industries. /p pTo achieve the highest level of performance, datacenter infrastructure has become a tightly integrated part of supercomputers where power, cooling and the building management systems provide critical consumable resources that should be optimized like any other resource in the system to extract maximum performance in a reliable way. We also strive towards optimal responsible embedding in the local environment. Tuning the heat recovery systems to optimize for the community district heating systems and tuning the power systems to support and stabilize the local grid are critically important to deliver on our societal responsibilities. /p pIn this role, you will maintain the infrastructure and ensure its reliability and performance. You will respond to incidents and support troubleshooting and resolution activities when issues arise. /p pYou will also contribute to the architecture and design of next-generation systems, helping shape future infrastructure evolution. A key part of the role involves automating processes, integrating systems, and implementing ongoing improvements and optimizations. /p pAs a part of the team, you will stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends, actively bringing new ideas. You will collaborate closely with other team members to evaluate and implement these improvements effectively. /p h3What You Have /h3 ul liBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or a related field. /li liAt least 6 years of experience as a Data Center Operations Engineer or in similar roles. /li liCertification to work with MV/LV electrical systems (Medium Voltage / Low Voltage) /li liCertifications (PES / PAV / PEI or equivalent, DCIS or equivalent) /li liStrong understanding of data center operations and critical infrastructure environments /li liSolid knowledge of industry standards, including ISO 50001 (Energy Management Systems) /li liHands‑on experience with data center monitoring, control, and integration systems, including BMC for the IT hardware and related tools /li liExperience with infrastructure monitoring and management protocols such as Redfish, SNMP, and MQTT /li liWorking knowledge of Python for automation and integration tasks /li liExperience with modern system integration frameworks and APIs (e.g. MCP or similar technologies) /li /ul h3Who You Are /h3 ul liA versatile engineer, comfortable operating in complex and fast‑paced environments. /li liDriven and fearless, you proactively tackle challenges and overcome obstacles with determination. /li liA systems thinker, capable of understanding the broader architecture and identifying dependencies across platforms and technologies. /li liA collaborative team player who is enthusiastic, curious, and passionate about problem‑solving, thriving both independently and within cross‑functional teams. /li liAn effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to engage with diverse stakeholders and foster collaboration. /li liFluent in English and eager to contribute in a multicultural and international environment. /li /ul h3Benefits /h3 h3Perks /h3 ul liLearning Friday.
