⭐ Mission: Join us as a Software Engineer on our Engineering Efficiency team to directly reduce time-to-market for Qonto’s entire tech organisation — by eliminating friction, building reliable internal tools, and making every engineer faster.

⚡ Impact: As a Software Engineer — Engineering Efficiency, you will work closely with Laetitia Riffaud, our Engineering Efficiency Lead, and join a team of 4 engineers who are on a mission to make Qonto’s tech organisation faster, smoother, and more impactful.

The tools you’ll ship will be used every day by every backend and web engineer at Qonto — this is one of the most direct and measurable impact loops you’ll find in a fintech engineering team.

As a Software Engineer — Engineering Efficiency at Qonto, you will

• Build trust, not just tools : You run proactive discovery conversations, keep stakeholders in the loop at every step, and turn releases into moments of clarity with communication that leads with value.
• Measure what matters : Before writing a single line of code, you define what success looks like. You track adoption, gather qualitative and quantitative feedback, and keep iterating until the problem is truly solved, not just shipped.
• Obsess over quality the right way : You ship reliable, maintainable solutions that solve the real problem. You balance rigor with pragmatism, resist over-engineering, and judge quality by outcomes.
• Own it end-to-end : You take full responsibility from the first commit to the final resolution. You communicate your plans clearly, follow through consistently.
• Deliver with intention : You consistently hit timelines by shaping scope thoughtfully, breaking work into small, and surfacing risks and trade-offs early, before they become blockers.

What You Can Expect

• The Engineering Efficiency team: you will join a team that is dedicated to improving the lives of engineers at Qonto by providing them with the tools they need to perform at their best.
• End-to-end ownership as the default: no handoffs, no “throw it over the wall.” Discovery → build → release → iterate, with internal users who are within reach and give you feedback immediately.
• A genuinely remote-friendly culture: full remote is the norm, not an exception. The team is spread across different cities in France, with two members based in the Paris area.
• AI-native by design: the team uses Claude Code, actively experiments with AI-enabled tooling, and expects you to bring that same mindset. You won’t be retrofitting AI — you’ll be building with it from day one.
• A fast and direct impact loop: your users are Qonto’s own engineers, reachable and vocal. When something you ship works, you know it.

About Your future manager

You’ll report to Laetitia Riffaud , Engineering Efficiency Lead at Qonto.

• Laetitia has 10 years of engineering experience, starting as a Back-End Engineer and evolving into an Engineering Manager role before joining Qonto as Lead Engineering Efficiency in October 2024. She has a passion for building internal tools that make a real difference in people’s daily work - she loves the direct connection with users who are accessible and whose feedback drives meaningful improvements.
• Throughout her career, she’s had a natural appetite for automating processes and removing pain points, always looking for opportunities to make work smoother and more efficient for her teams. At Qonto, she’s excited to apply this approach at a larger scale.
• As a manager, Laetitia believes in collaborative leadership - she’s convinced that great work happens when teams work together to tackle challenges collectively. You can expect her to give you ownership of your work while being available for guidance when you need it. She trusts her team members to make decisions and sees both successes and failures as learning opportunities that strengthen the team.

About You

• Infrastructure skills: You’ve been exposed to infrastructure and delivery tooling (e.g., Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, Argo CD / Argo Rollouts). You don’t need to be an expert, but you’re curious, comfortable learning, and you can operate or contribute to production systems with guidance when needed.
• Discovery mindset + stakeholder communication: you naturally ask “what do you actually need?” before building — you validate root causes, challenge assumptions, and stay close to users after shipping.
• Strong engineering fundamentals (Go context): you build reliable software, think about failure modes, and care about observability, testing, and maintainability.
• Product thinking — impact measurement: you define success metrics before writing a line of code and you’re not done until adoption proves it worked.
• AI-native workflow: you use AI tools daily to accelerate how you work, and you know when not to trust the output.
• Collaborative: you communicate proactively when blocked, coordinate across teams when needed, and follow through on what you commit to.
