Europe Product Marketing Manager - Bus

About the role: the Product Marketing Manager own the full product lifecycle for BYD Bus in Europe: market analysis and intelligence, competitive benchmark, operator requirements, product specifications, positioning, value proposition, eMobility and depot‑charging solutions, and Go‑to‑Market execution.

This role acts as the end‑to‑end product owner for BYD’s bus portfolio, serving as the primary interface between European operators, municipalities, HQ product teams, and regional commercial functions. The Senior Manager drives product definition, competitiveness, commercial offering, and lifecycle performance — from concept validation to launch and continuous improvement — ensuring that BYD buses meet market expectations, regulatory requirements, and outperform key competitors in the European public transport market. improvement — ensuring that BYD trucks meet market expectations and outperform key competitors.

Key responsibilities:

• Product Strategy & Roadmap: define and steer the European bus product strategy, ensuring alignment with operator needs, regulatory frameworks (EU TPL standards), and competitive benchmarks across citybus, intercity, and coach segments.
• Operator & Market Insight: integrate operator requirements, tender specifications, regulatory constraints, and market intelligence into product specifications and positioning.
• Competitive Positioning: shape the value proposition and differentiation vs. European OEMs, focusing on energy efficiency, TCO, passenger experience, and depot‑charging integration
• Go‑to‑Market Leadership: lead GTM strategy, launch governance, and cross‑functional readiness with sales, service, engineering, tenders team and HQ.
• Lifecycle Ownership: manage the full product lifecycle from introduction to phase‑out, ensuring continuous competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and commercial effectiveness.
• Commercial Enablement: ensure the bus portfolio is supported by strong sales tools, tender documentation, technical materials, and commercial catalogues.

Main duties:

• Collect, validate, and structure operator requirements from public transport companies, municipalities, dealers, and key accounts.
• Translate market and regulatory needs into product specifications, technical targets, and configuration guidelines.
• Coordinate with HQ on product roadmap, homologation, safety standards, engineering changes, and technical development.
• Prepare product positioning documents, value proposition frameworks, and competitive benchmark analyses for citybus, intercity, and coach applications.
• Develop sales enablement tools: product sheets, tender documentation, technical files, catalogues, and training materials.
• Support pricing strategy, TCO modelling, and commercial offer definition (vehicle + charging + depot energy solutions).
• Lead launch readiness activities: product documentation, demo fleet planning, internal communication, GTM governance.
• Monitor product performance, operator satisfaction, and competitive landscape to identify improvement actions.
• Provide technical‑commercial support to regional sales teams, tender offices, and key account managers.
• Ensure compliance with European regulations, homologation requirements, safety standards, and market‑specific norms.

Requirements & competencies:

Technical Competences

• Strong product planning capabilities and understanding of EV systems (battery, powertrain, charging).
• Expertise in product marketing, positioning, and value proposition design.
• Solid knowledge of Go to Market strategy and launch management.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into actionable product specifications.
• Analytical mindset: market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, TCO modelling.
• Familiarity with European truck regulations, homologation processes, and fleet operational needs.
• Proven knowledge of bus products and the public transport business is a valued plus.
