As an Earth Observation Data Service Manager, you will own one or more services within the Earth Observation Framework, driving design, procurement, deployment and operation. You collaborate with Mission Managers, Ground Segment Managers and the user community to tailor services to needs, close gaps and ensure cost‑effective delivery. You will manage risk, govern under SLAs, and contribute to the framework’s evolution with scalable IT solutions. Your work supports reliable EO data generation, discovery, and access for the user community while aligning with ESA policies. This role offers impact on data‑driven Earth science and international collaboration.Retribuzione / Benefits
- Define service requirements from internal stakeholders and the scientific user community
- Identify gaps and plan implementation/evolution of services with procurement actions
- Manage service implementation, transfer to operations and operational provision under SLAs
- Maintain risk management and compliance with ESA security framework
- Provide regular technical, operational and financial reporting
- Generate and maintain service-related documentation
- Monitor end-to-end integration and performance of services and propose improvements
- Develop and deploy scalable ICT and cloud-based solutions
- Engage with EO data and services API/standards communities and international bodies
- Support the Head of the Common Services Section on additional tasks and audits
- Proven experience in service and project management
- Design, implementation and operations experience with large‑scale data infrastructures, cloud architectures and virtualization
- Experience in software engineering and programming, plus data analysis and BI tools
- Familiarity with SecDevOps principles
- Solid understanding of the full EO data lifecycle
- Knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art EO technologies, including AI/ML
- Knowledge of ESA and/or industrial procurement processes
- Master's degree in Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience (PMP/ITIL asset)
