THE ROLE
The EMEA Senior OT Automation Consultant will be responsible for driving and coordinating OT automation projects across Southern Europe, acting as the technical bridge between Operations, Engineering, IT, and the Global OT Team. This role focuses on software‑driven automation, project leadership, and technical guidance rather than hands‑on execution. The position requires strong expertise in industrial automation environments, particularly SCADA and OT networks, and the ability to influence local teams within a matrix organization. The EMEA Senior OT Automation Consultant will ensure standardization, reuse of best practices, and alignment with global OT strategies while supporting multiple manufacturing sites. The key responsibilities include:
- Lead OT automation projects across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with global OT standards.
- Act as the technical liaison between Operations, Engineering, IT, and the Global OT Team.
- Provide technical guidance to local engineering and maintenance teams (no direct reports).
- Influence and support teams in a matrix environment to adopt standardized OT solutions.
- Translate operational needs into User Requirement Specifications (URS) and RFQs for vendors.
- Collaborate with integrators and vendors on SCADA and PLC software configuration.
- Support the improvement and optimization of OT networks, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Promote standardization and reuse of automation solutions across sites.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external standards across all OT automation activities.
THE PROFILE
- 5–10 years of experience in OT automation within industrial or manufacturing environments (batch industry preferred).
- Strong expertise in SCADA systems, PLC/SCADA software configuration, and automation software design.
- Solid understanding of OT networks, including firewalls, routers, switches, and hardware design.
- Experience translating operational needs into technical specifications for vendors.
- Background in system integrators or consulting firms is highly valued.
- Experience in the battery industry is a plus.
- Ability to influence without authority in a matrix organization.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Comfortable navigating complex environments between OT and IT.
- Proactive, structured, and able to drive standardization across multiple sites.
- Fluent English (mandatory), Spanish or Italian strongly preferred and German is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% across EMEA sites.
