Data Protection Expert

Overview

In this role, you will operate within the Local Data Protection Office as part of the second line of defence, safeguarding GDPR compliance and data protection across the bank. You will work with cross‑functional teams to assess programs, review DPIAs, and support information security controls. You’ll help communicate requirements, support data subject rights, and contribute to independent validations and remediation tracking. The role blends regulatory diligence with practical, business‑facing advisory, within a modern, flexible banking environment.Responsibilities

• Support second line oversight of data protection programs and advise business and first line functions on GDPR compliance
• Promote awareness of data protection requirements across the bank and integrate them into processes and controls
• Assist in DPIA reviews and maintenance of the Records of Processing Activities
• Contribute to incident management via second line review of data breach assessments and collaboration with IT/Security on security events
• Review data protection procedures, policies and guidelines and provide independent validation and improvement recommendations
• Perform second line controls and gap analyses to identify remediation actions related to data protection and information security
• Support local training programs on data protection and awareness initiatives to strengthen compliance culture and secure information handling

Qualifications

• Experience of 2 to 4 years in data protection / legal / compliance / computer science
• Master or equivalent post‑university specialization in data protection or computer science (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations
• Knowledge of information technology and computer science
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent in English both oral and written
