No /ph3Offer Description /h3pThe research activity will focus on the electronic structure and reactivity of open-shell catalytic systems, including single-atom catalysts, functional materials, and molecular transition-metal complexes. The aim is to clarify how oxidation state, coordination geometry, spin-density distribution, and redox transformations affect catalytic activity, selectivity, and stability. Characterisation will be carried out primarily by continuous-wave and pulsed EPR spectroscopy, combined with complementary techniques and electronic-structure calculations. Particular attention will be devoted to the identification of active sites, the study of reaction intermediates and electron-transfer processes, and the correlation between spectroscopic parameters and catalytic performance. The results will support the rational design of more efficient, stable, and sustainable catalysts, while reducing the use of critical raw materials. /ppMandatory requirement for admission to the selection: italian Laurea Magistrale, or Laurea a Ciclo Unico, or an equivalent degree from foreign Universities, obtained no more than 6 years prior to the application deadline (i.e obtained after 13/10/2020).
