Business Development Manager Vertical Markets, Transport

The role:

Xylem is seeking a Business Developer Vertical Markets who combines the division portfolio promotion, by searching and developing different verticals with a strong capacity to effectively conduct market analysis to enhance business growth targets. Success in this role requires creative problem-solving, adaptability and strong collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate will act as a growth catalyst.

  • Ensure that the best Technical/Market Price is delivered to our customers.
  • Design customized solutions applicable to the specific vertical.
  • Drive new product launches within a specific market alongside Marketing dept.
  • Accountable to identify strategic product pricing.
  • Maintain accurate data and leverage insights to identify opportunities and build actionable plans against KPIs.
  • Strong partnership with internal stakeholders to identify indirect specific sales channels.
  • Conduct deep market study and analysis to serve new or growing vertical markets.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure smooth execution of sales process.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to track result from each vertical and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to support scalable vertical markets growth.
  • Strong collaboration with the local salesforce to ensure the achievement of the business growth defined by the segment strategy.
  • Ensure higher win rate, making post-mortem analysis on lost cases with sales.
  • Manage priority among customers with a hunter mindset and proactive approach to effectively ensuring the best quotations and offer follow ups.
  • Identify possible partnership with Third Parties to become more effective in the way we address the vertical market.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales in the industrial sector.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce other systems such as PowerBI, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with channel sales models and partner ecosystems.

Travel requirements: up to 75%.

Location: North-Italy, with the responsibility on the entire country
