Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A. SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.

Purpose of the position

As Vessel Operations Engineer, you will be part of the Asset Based Services Business Line.

The Vessel Operations Engineer is responsible for providing operational and engineering expertise to support both tendering activities and project execution. The role involves reviewing engineering deliverables, addressing operational challenges, and advising the Project Operations Manager (or delegate) on industry best practices. By working closely with the project engineering team, the Vessel Operations Engineer contributes to the successful achievement of project and tender objectives, ensuring alignment with approved plans, procedures, and operational requirements.

How can you support us?

• Provide operational and technical expertise to support tendering activities and project execution, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of offshore operations.
• Review engineering deliverables, installation methodologies, procedures, and execution strategies, identifying risks, optimization opportunities, and operational improvements.
• Advise Project Operations Managers, Vessel Management Teams, and project stakeholders on operational best practices and effective execution solutions.
• Support project planning, mobilization, installation, and demobilization activities, ensuring the timely availability and efficient utilization of vessels, equipment, materials, and resources.
• Coordinate and consolidate inputs from Engineering, Operations, Assets, and specialized disciplines to ensure alignment between project planning and offshore execution.
• Contribute to the resolution of technical and operational challenges, providing guidance to offshore and onshore teams throughout all project phases.

What are we looking for?

Education

Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Naval, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering

Background

3-5 years. Previous experience as a methods engineer would also be an advantage

Languages

English (B2)

Technical Knowledge

Microsoft packages, primavera and/or mpp, SAP (optional)

What else should you know?

Availability for offshore rotations is mandatory.
