Yacht New Build & Refit Project Manager

As part of the continued expansion of our New Build Division based in Viareggio, Camper & Nicholsons is seeking an experienced New Build & Refit Project Manager to join its growing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for technical surveyance and coordination of the Owner’s project team of superyacht new build and refit projects, monitoring they are built in compliance to the underlaying agreements with the Builder and to the highest quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with yacht owners, shipyards, designers, and technical teams, while providing regular updates to the Head of the New Build Division.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical management of superyacht new build and refit projects from inception through to final delivery.
• Define, plan, and monitor project activities, milestones, and elaborate deliverables such as short specs and reviews of Builder’s Specs and GAs.
• Work closely with owners and their representatives to systematically verify the project meets their expectations in terms of quality, budget, and delivery schedule.
• Coordinate with shipyards, regulatory bodies, designers, contractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement appropriate solutions.
• Prepare and present regular project updates to stakeholders and senior management.
• Coordinate and support Owner’s project team members across engineering, production, procurement, and commissioning activities.
• Monitor compliance with applicable regulations, classification society requirements, and industry standards.

• Qualifications & Experience:
• At least 10 years' proven experience in yacht new build and/or refit project management within the superyacht industry.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex superyacht projects.
• Strong understanding of superyacht construction, engineering systems, and refit processes.
• Academic degree in naval engineering or naval architecture.
• Good knowledge mechanical and propulsion systems, electrical and hydraulic systems, HVAC, and interior outfitting.
• Familiarity with classification society requirements and industry regulations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
• Fluency in both Italian and English is essential.
