Our team operates with a blend of startup agility and the scale of a growth‑stage company, with tens of thousands of daily users and strong growth metrics.

About The Role

As a Product Engineer you’ll own a significant portion of one of our products and manage projects end‑to‑end. You will research competitors, write product specs, produce wireframes, and develop feature implementations that are integral to our platform.

• Write detailed technical specifications and wireframes.
• Build and maintain robust, scalable code across the stack.
• Collaborate with Designers and Product Managers on user research and feature prioritization.
• Integrate new features into existing infrastructure and ensure high quality through testing and code reviews.
• Continuously refactor and improve codebases, including tooling and abstractions.
• Present progress and gather feedback from stakeholders and customers.

Qualifications

• Comfortable working on all layers of the stack.
• Experience solving ambiguous product and technical problems.
• Balanced sense of speed and quality, able to ship high‑quality code quickly.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills—able to shape decisions with stakeholders.
• Ambitious and continually looking to improve and grow.
• Experience with ownership of end‑to‑end projects.

Engineering Culture

• Minimal process—ownership of decisions traditionally handled by product and design.
• Natural collaboration with deliberate communication.
• Strong emphasis on building tools and abstractions that give leverage.
• Focus on ownership and self‑direction, with regular 30‑60‑90 day reviews.

Diversity & Inclusion

Ashby believes diverse teams drive innovation and better outcomes. We actively source diverse candidates, provide generous family leave, and have a no‑LeetCode interview policy. Currently 25% of engineers and 50% of engineering leaders are from underrepresented groups.

Interview Process

• Introduction call with Hiring Manager (15‑30 minutes).
• Technical screen with pair programming (1 hour).
• Three non‑coding rounds focusing on product thinking, technical design, and infrastructure (3 hours 15 minutes total).

First Three Months

You will receive a streamlined onboarding experience: a single‑script development setup, immediate impact on production features, and a 30‑60‑90 day review cycle. A peer mentor will guide you and facilitate knowledge transfer.
