The Opportunity

We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the team in Milan. This is a unique opportunity for technically passionate engineer to launch their engineering career driving innovation and contributing to major international projects.

As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer At Arup, You Will

• Support the Infrastructure and Structural teams across a wide range of national and international projects, engaging in field and office-based activities under the supervision of senior staff.
• Plan, supervise, and report on ground investigations, ensuring accurate data collection and comprehensive reporting, ensuring clarity and precision.
• Contribute to technical analysis, modelling, and reporting, applying your academic knowledge to real-world challenges for a wide range of infrastructure projects.
• Communicating design solutions (foundations, retaining structures, underground structures, slopes and earthworks) to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to geotechnical research engaging with Arup global Ground Engineering Skills Network, Universities and research partners, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

• Master degree in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent (acquired or to be acquired within the current year);
• Plan to acquire membership with a relevant professional body (Ordine degli Ingegneri);
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eagerness to learn and apply new concepts;
• Finite element analyses skills;
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative environment;
• High motivation, proactivity and willingness to take on new challenges;
• Interest and ability in digital space, 3D modelling, scripting, or GIS would be an advantage.
