Position Summary

Service guests, escort guests to table when appropriate and offer to deliver food orders to guest tables according to hotel specification, courteously and efficiently. Also assist in the maintenance, cleanliness of the restaurant area and equipment

QUALIFICATION

Essential

• Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding
• Ability to provide legible communication
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to have basic computer knowledge
• Wine knowledge

Desirable

• High school graduate, some college
• Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service
• Certification in alcohol awareness program
• Ability to communicate in a second language

SKILLS

• Ability to understand guest’s service needs
• Ability to access and input information into Micros system
• Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration and think clearly when providing service to several guests within any given period of time
• Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team

Job Functions

• Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of restaurant
• Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the restaurant and respective glassware and garnishes
• Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu selections, preparation method, major ingredients, quality standards, appearance and serving temperature
• Strictly abide state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving
• Maintain complete knowledge of Micros and manual systems
• Complete opening duties as assigned
• Ensure correct silverware is placed for each course in a timely manner
• Direct guest to restrooms as outlined with BVLGARI standards
• Check and replenish beverages
• Retrieve food orders from kitchen and serve to guests
• Open and serve wine / champagne bottles
• Prepare and serve coffee drinks and tea
• Anticipate guest’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge guests even when busy with a SMILE
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times
• Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
• Handle guest complaints following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas
• Adhere to all payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures
• Complete all closing reports as assigned and leave duty after reporting to Manager/Supervisor

Other Duties

• Courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating, ensuring hotel's standards of service.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintaining the cleanliness of the room at all times.
• Take reservations and maintain reservation system. Adhere to all payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
• Assist in monitoring the guests' needs and all phases of the operation.
• Answer the telephone courteously and efficiently as specified in departmental standards
• Take, record and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellations as specified in departmental standards
• Support the F&B Manager with administration duties and menu engineering.
