The Controls Engineer will collaborate daily with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Software Architecture, Application Engineering, Validation, Manufacturing, and Service. /p /brh3What kind of work will you be doing? /h3 /brpControl software /p /brul /brliAnalyze product and customer requirements and contribute to functional specifications. /li /brliDesign, implement, and maintain control applications for HVAC/refrigeration systems (PLC / industrial controllers, IEC 61131-3 or equivalent). /li /brliVerify and validate software against functional, operational, and quality requirements. /li /brliDiagnose control issues in lab, production, and field; propose software and, where relevant, hardware improvements. /li /brliMaintain technical documentation: Sequences of Operation (SOO), functional descriptions, control logic, and interface specs. /li /brliDefine requirements for HMI/user interfaces, communication networks, and protocol integration (e.g. Modbus, BACnet, CAN, EtherNet/IP). /li /br /ul /brpDelivery with other teams /p /brul /brliSupport Application Engineering on new functions and customer-specific solutions. /li /brliSupport Lab / Product Validation, including customer witness tests. /li /brliSupport Manufacturing on production deployment and end-of-line testing. /li /brliSupport Service and field teams on troubleshooting, commissioning, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Integrated System Testing (IST) when required. /li /brliWork with Quality on controls-related non-conformities; support Sales on technical discussions when needed. /li /brliDeliver targeted technical training to internal teams and customers on specific solutions. /li /br /ul /brpOther responsibilities: /p /brul /brliParticipate in design and requirements reviews; follow Vertiv engineering standards, safety rules, and the software development process. /li /brliUse version control and configuration management (Git, GitHub). /li /brliProvide clear project status and manage multiple deliveries to agreed dates. /li /br /ul /brh3What will make you successful? /h3 /brul /brliBachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience. /li /brliMinimum of 2 years relevant project experience working with controls and automation equipment related to development, programming, debugging, as well as support and troubleshooting (IEC 61131-3 or equivalent). /li /brliWorking knowledge of HVAC, chillers, or refrigeration, including typical compressor types and how control logic interacts with the thermodynamic cycle. /li /brliFamiliarity with at least some of: Modbus, BACnet, CAN, EtherNet/IP. /li /brliAbility to write clear technical documentation in English and work in an international, multidisciplinary team. /li /brliExperience in at least one of: prototype bring-up, lab testing, commissioning, or product validation. /li /br /ul /brh3Nice-to-have /h3 /brul /brliDeeper refrigeration/thermodynamics or fluid-dynamics background applied to controls (superheat, capacity control, oil management, etc.). /li /brliC/C++, C#, or Python for tools, simulation, or complementary application software. /li /brliKnowledge of software version-control systems (Git, GitHub) /li /brliHMI/web interfaces (including JavaScript/HTML where relevant). /li /brliOPC UA, BMS integration, or data-center cooling applications. /li /brliExperience in a regulated / process-driven product environment. /li /brliCustomer-facing commissioning or training. /li /br /ul /brh3General Skills /h3 /brul /brliMS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy /li /brliGood English written and oral communication skills /li /brliMust be a self-starter, team player, work well with others and have a positive attitude /li /brliMust be a creative thinker, results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy /li /brliMust have ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines /li /brliMust be organized, detail oriented, and able to think designs through completely /li /br /ul /brpWe are looking for someone who will: Work on structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; ensure quality in a process-driven environment; has the ability to work independently without losing alignment with Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Architecture. /p /brpThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities. /p /brh3OUR CORE PRINCIPALS: /h3 /brpSafety.
