The location for this role is bTrieste, Italy /b. In accordance to our local hybrid work model , you will be able to work partially remotely. This role also includes travelling approximately 25% of the time . /p pIn this role, you will become a key expert in embedded engine controls and automation systems, supporting customers and products operating worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands‑on troubleshooting, software configuration, field support, testing, and product development while working alongside experts across the global Wärtsilä network. /p pAt Wärtsilä Technical Services, you will join a highly specialised international team and gain in‑depth expertise in control systems for 4‑stroke engines used in both marine and power plant applications. /p h3Your role and responsibilities /h3 ul liProviding high‑level technical support to both internal and external customers remotely and on‑site. /li liInvestigating, troubleshooting, and resolving complex automation and control system issues. /li liConducting site surveys, commissioning support, and field investigations around the world. /li liSimulating and analysing field issues in our advanced automation laboratory using physical and virtual test environments. /li liPerforming root cause analyses and supporting product reliability improvements. /li liManaging engine automation software configurations, upgrades, backups, and system modifications. /li liCollecting and analysing field feedback, failure statistics, and operational data to identify improvement opportunities. /li liPreparing technical documentation including service bulletins, manuals, investigation reports, and survey reports. /li liInitiating, leading, and supporting product and process development projects. /li liCollaborating with RD and other technical departments to solve challenging technical problems and enhance product performance. /li liSupporting product introductions, validation, and testing activities for next‑generation automation platforms. /li liActing as a technical reference point for product and field‑related expertise across the organization. /li /ul h3Requirements for the position /h3 ul liB.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or a related field. /li liExperience in technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving. /li liExperience with embedded control or automation systems. /li liStrong analytical mindset and systematic approach to technical investigations. /li liGood communicationskills and proficiency in English. /li liWillingness to travel approximately 25% of the time. /li /ul h3It would be great if you also have /h3 ul liExperience with engine control systems, power generation, marine automation, or industrial automation. /li liKnowledge of generators, propulsion systems, or energy‑related applications. /li liExperience with software configuration and diagnostics of embedded systems. /li liInterest in root cause analysis, testing, validation, and product development. /li liA collaborative mindset combined with curiosity and eagerness to learn. /li /ul h3Whyyouand us? /h3 pYou are valued – as your true self.
