Robotics Senior Mechanical Designer

Overview

In this role you will design, modify, and analyze equipment and systems for manufacturing and installation, optimizing designs to meet evolving standards. You will apply design thinking to projects within ABB Robotics, contributing to the Robotics Automation Division in Italy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, perform design verifications, and develop reusable processes to boost productivity. Responsabilità

• Perform design peer-reviews and verify designs against applicable standards and guidelines
• Create standard processes and tools to promote reuse of technical solutions and productivity
• Develop work plans and cost estimates for project portfolios
• Review project documents for safety, cybersecurity, and quality assurance conformity

Requisiti fondamentali

• 5+ years in mechanical engineering and machine design, ideally in robotic cells or automation
• Expertise in 3D mechanical design and machine design methodologies
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and PLM/PDM tools
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• English and Italian language proficiency
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings and site activities
