AI Intern

The Role This is a hands-on internship in our Milan office, starting in November or December 2026, building AI that people across Circeus and its portfolio companies use every day. You sit inside a live team, take a real problem, and ship a working solution rather than a slide about one. Day to day, you will prototype with large language models, build agents and automations that replace manual process, and help move portfolio products from systems of record into systems of action through our central AI platform. The work is measured by adoption: a workflow someone relies on, a step that no longer needs a person, a decision made faster and better. You will work directly with our AI team, engineers and operators across London, Milan and Sarajevo, and present what you build to the people who decide whether it scales. Strong interns are the first people we look to when the team grows. It suits someone who already builds with AI because they want to, who would rather ship something small that works than plan something large, and who wants to see how AI changes real businesses rather than demos. What You'll Do Prototype and ship AI tools and agents with large language models, taking them from first version to something a team depends on Build automations that replace manual process inside Circeus and its portfolio companies, and measure the time and errors they remove Help extend portfolio products from systems of record into systems of action using our central AI platform Design and test prompts, retrieval pipelines and evaluation sets so outputs are reliable enough to trust in production Turn messy data and documents into structured inputs that models and people can act on Work with engineers and operators to embed what you build into real workflows rather than standalone demos Document what you build so it outlasts your internship and can be reused across teams Present results and recommendations to senior operators and the AI team What We're Looking For Final-year student, recent graduate or early-career professional in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related quantitative discipline Working proficiency in Python and comfort with APIs, data handling and version control Evidence you have built something with large language models or machine learning, whether a project, a repository, a hackathon entry or prior work Clear written and spoken English, and the confidence to explain a technical choice to a non-technical audience Bias to action and comfort operating with incomplete information Available to start in November or December 2026, based in Milan, with the right to work in Italy Nice to Have Experience with agent frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation or LLM evaluation tooling Familiarity with cloud services and shipping code to production Italian language skills Interest in B2B software and how businesses actually buy and use it Side projects, open-source contributions or independent research in AI Why Circeus Real problems across a portfolio of software businesses rather than a single product AI applied to commercial problems, with impact you can measure in adoption and hours saved Ownership and pace from your first week, with direct access to senior operators and the AI team One team across London, Milan and Sarajevo, operating as a single system rather than separate offices Competitive compensation and a clear route to a permanent role for strong performers If you're excited about building AI with real-world impact, we'd love to hear from you.
