As HPC Manager, you will own and evolve the CFD compute cluster to deliver reliable, high-performance simulations for engineering teams. You’ll drive performance, capacity planning, and system optimization in a fast-paced, international motorsport environment. You will collaborate with CFD engineers to streamline workflows and ensure 24/7 availability. This is a chance to shape the HPC roadmap and push cutting‑edge GPU, cloud, and hybrid solutions in a mission‑driven team.Retribuzione / Benefits
- Own and manage the CFD HPC cluster (compute, storage, networking) ensuring performance and availability
- Manage job scheduling, resource allocation, and workload prioritization
- Oversee performance tuning, benchmarking, and system optimization
- Maintain and evolve parallel file systems and data pipelines for CFD
- Drive capacity planning and future HPC architecture evolution
- Travel occasionally to Milton Keynes (DC site) and respond to critical issues, including weekends
- Collaborate with CFD/engineering teams to optimize workflows and support users
- Ensure 24/7 reliability of HPC services and implement monitoring, alerts, and automation
- Lead troubleshooting of complex system issues
- Manage software stack, compilers, libraries, and CFD tools
- Lead and develop a team of HPC engineers/administrators
- Define best practices, documentation, and operational procedures
- Evaluate new technologies (GPU, cloud, hybrid HPC) for efficiency and scalability
- Minimum 5 years in HPC environments
- Degree in Computer Engineering
- Strong Linux and cluster management expertise
- Experience with HPC schedulers (Slurm, PBS, LSF)
- Knowledge of InfiniBand / low‑latency networking
- Experience with parallel file systems (Lustre, GPFS, BeeGFS)
- Strong CFD workload and simulation environment understanding
- Performance tuning and optimization experience
- Leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English
- Experience in motorsport or high‑performance engineering environments
- GPU computing (CUDA, ROCm/HIP)
- Container technologies (Singularity/Apptainer)
- Automation (Python, Ansible)
- Scripting (bash)
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid HPC
- Travel 10-20%
