Front-End Developer (Protected Categories - Law 68/99)

From our office in the town of Frascati (Rome), CGI Italy helps scientists and entrepreneurs in processing Earth Observation data using cutting edge IT technologies to streamline big data analytics. Thanks to Space application and services we can extract information from satellite data offering solution in several domains including weather, geographical survey bringing value in different sectors like health, transportation, government, agriculture, maritime, oil and gas, trading, finance and insurance.

Earth Observation gives us the possibility to monitor our Planet Earth and to investigate several challenges the humanity is facing like climate change, the Earth’s natural resources and you, can be part of our team as a Front end Developer.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Developing Web UI in the Earth Observation domain
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards.
• Integrating new functionalities into our Front End framework
• Designing User Experience for Earth Observation applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including back-end developers and dev-ops, to create highly functional user interfaces for our space-related applications.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in the space domain, and incorporate innovative solutions into our projects.
• Taking a keen interest in our journey, not just tasks executions.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in developing User Interfaces exploiting: one or more JS frameworks like React, Angular, Vue.Js or Backbone.
• Experience in high quality software development
• Good knowledge of javascript/typescript concepts and paradigms
• Good understanding of JSON, REST and modern HTML5/CSS3 web technologies.
• Experience in designing User Experiences.
• Fluent spoken and written English

Desirable Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of OGC standards and opensource solution (e.g. leaflet, GeoServer)
• Knowledge of backend technologies and APIs.
• Competence in Earth Observation
