Junior IT Security Specialist

We are seeking a motivated Junior IT Security Specialist to support core information security activities and grow within the IT team. The role focuses on security assessments, remediation support, monitoring activities, and secure development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing
  • Perform security assessments across systems and applications.
  • Identify risks and recommend practical mitigation actions.
  • Record findings clearly and support follow-up actions.
• Incident Response & Security Monitoring
  • Monitor security events and support routine analysis activities.
  • Assist with the investigation and handling of security issues.
  • Maintain clear records of incidents and security activities.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of security controls.
• Collaboration & Remediation Coordination
  • Work with internal teams to help address identified risks.
  • Promote good security practices across day-to-day operations.
  • Support cross-functional teams in security-related initiatives.
  • Contribute to operational support activities when needed.
  • Help keep working documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Support improvement initiatives related to IT and security activities.
• Secure Software Development Support
  • Support development teams in adopting secure coding practices.
  • Contribute to improving application security during development.
  • Assist with integrating security practices into development workflows.
• Ethical Hacking & Security Research
  • Apply structured testing approaches to help evaluate security posture.
  • Stay informed on relevant security trends and risks.
  • Contribute to security awareness and training programs.
  • Support broader IT and security initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Relevant security certifications are considered a plus
• Some experience or academic exposure to IT security is preferred
• Italian language: native speaker or professional working proficiency.
• Good knowledge of the English language, both at a technical and relational level.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing techniques.
• Familiarity with common security technologies and monitoring concepts.
• Basic knowledge of networks, systems, and security fundamentals.
• Understanding of secure development principles and application security basics.
• Interest in security testing and continuous learning.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
