Warehouse Material Recovery Manager

Position Overview

Starting Pay: $70,000.00 per year. Responsible for oversight, leadership and results for Salvage, Recycling and E‑waste operations for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Leads daily operations, directs the team, and drives the business for both short‑ and long‑term success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute department operations plan to achieve growth targets for profit, revenue and environmental impact.
• Monitor and record product levels daily to meet sales budget targets while optimizing material recovery.
• Manage payroll and operating costs within budget, focusing on resource efficiency.
• Maintain relationships with salvage buyers to foster a market for repurposed and recyclable materials.
• Partner with community businesses and organizations to promote the GCNA mission and champion sustainability efforts.
• Advocate for environmental and social benefits of recycling and reuse as a GCNA ambassador to the community.
• Make day‑to‑day operational decisions within defined work area.
• Coordinate with the Director, Aftermarket to analyze pricing strategies for salvage products.
• Partner with local recyclers to stay informed on market pricing, hazards and operational changes.
• Ensure quality and quantity of all salvage commodities meet salvage guidelines.
• Oversee proper handling, sorting and disposal of e‑waste per local, state and federal regulations.
• Ensure team members operate per company standards and procedures related to security, health and safety.
• Partner with support areas (Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, etc.) to meet business goals and compliance.
• Attend regularly, maintaining consistent in‑person attendance.
• Perform performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, annual reviews), staffing, compensation and development of team members.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ work experience in Retail Management, preferably in thrift.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable.
