Experteer OverviewIn this role you will underwrite complex Italian surety risks and lead portfolio growth within Munich Re’s Specialty Lines in Milan. You will combine technical underwriting with market engagement to deliver sustainable profitability, while collaborating with a global network of surety and credit experts. You’ll monitor risk and performance, advise clients and brokers, and contribute to knowledge sharing and global standards. This is a hands‑on role for someone who shapes the Italian surety strategy in a dynamic, international environment.ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite complex surety risks, including detailed credit analyses and deal structuring according to Munich Re guidelinesDrive growth of the Italian surety portfolio with disciplined underwriting and profitability focusMonitor portfolio performance, risk exposures, and trends; translate insights into strategic recommendationsAssess both treaty and single risks; identify and develop new business opportunities in ItalyAct as trusted advisor to clients and brokers; support client strategies and long-term partnershipsRepresent Munich Re in the market; contribute to market intelligence by spotting trends, risks, and opportunitiesCollaborate with global Surety & Credit network and cross‑functional teams (claims, legal, compliance, finance) to deliver integrated solutionsContribute to internal knowledge sharing, training, and development of underwriting expertiseSupport reporting to the Home Office and ensure alignment with global underwriting standards and prioritiesQualificationsDegree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field5-8 years of experience in surety underwriting (credit insurance a plus)Strong understanding of surety bonds, financial analysis, and risk assessmentAbility to assess contracts and legal/insurance wordingAnalytical mindset with a solution‑oriented approachClient-focused, proactive, and commercially drivenStrong communication and interpersonal skillsTeam player with ownership and accountabilityProficiency in Excel and openness to digital toolsFluent business English #J-18808-Ljbffr
