Engineering Specialist - Customer Application Engineering (M/F/D)

Role Overview The Engineering Specialist – Customer Application Engineering, with Reciprocating Compressor Application, leads the technical strategy of our offering in agreement with the project team/functions. You will be the main technical interface with the customer during the Inquiry To Order (ITO) phase, translating the customer’s needs into the most compelling technical solution leveraging the RC product portfolio and technology. Responsibilities

Prepare and manage technical proposals relevant to Reciprocating Compressor applications, maximizing value proposition for the customer. Define the technical strategy of projects, influencing customers towards Baker Hughes solutions. Estimate and ensure accuracy of the budget associated with proposed solutions. Deliver a compelling technical proposal within required timelines on first submission. Apply product and quality policies, addressing and mitigating any residual risk as per Baker Hughes procedures. Lead technical negotiations, coordinating with supporting functions and presenting to customers. Hand over the technical contract to the execution team upon award in the smoothest way possible.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. 2+ years of experience in Engineering, Application Engineering, Product management, Customer Service, or equivalent technical role. Fluent in English (spoken and written) with strong communication skills. Willingness to work under stretched deadlines with flexible time management. Available to travel on short notice. Capability to work in a team and make independent decisions. Open‑minded and comfortable working in multicultural teams.

Desired Characteristics

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Effective problem‑identification and solution skills, with proven analytical and organizational ability. Previous experience in Reciprocating Compressor technology/market is an appreciated plus.
