Marketing Manager - Italy

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Marketing Manager to lead the Italian marketing agenda, with full ownership of the local acquisition strategy, marketing budget and key contribution to retention, CRM and player lifecycle initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong direct marketing expertise both digital and offline, an understanding of CRM and retention mechanics, and proven experience working in international or multinational environments. This is a highly operational role: while the position includes team management responsibilities, we are looking for someone who is comfortable getting directly involved in campaign planning, execution, analysis, partner negotiations and performance optimisation.

Previous experience in online gambling, iGaming, casino or a highly regulated digital direct‑marketing business is considered a strong plus.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Managing the Italian acquisition budget across digital and offline channels, ensuring efficient allocation, tracking and optimisation.
  • Leading the planning, execution and performance analysis of acquisition campaigns across paid media, affiliates, sponsorships, partnerships, offline media and other relevant channels.
  • Managing budget planning, re‑forecasting and performance reporting, ensuring clear visibility on spend, ROI, CPA, LTV, payback and contribution to the Italian P&L.
  • Working closely with central marketing teams to localise, launch and optimise ongoing and new campaigns for the Italian market.
  • Leading direct negotiations with external partners, including sponsorships, creative and media agencies, publishers and other commercial partners.
  • Owning the local brand strategy, key messages and market positioning, ensuring consistency with the global brand while adapting to Italian market needs.
  • Monitoring competitors, market trends, customer behaviour and regulatory developments in the Italian online gambling and digital marketing landscape.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly performance updates, strategic plans and business reviews to the Country Director.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing a team of two, while remaining directly involved in day‑to‑day execution.
  • Ensuring all marketing activities are compliant with applicable regulations, internal policies and responsible gaming standards.
  • Identifying acquisition and retention gaps in the customer journey, promotional offer, product experience and communication strategy, proposing actionable improvements.
  • Acting as a key local partner for product, CRM and retention teams.
  • Working closely with the CRM and retention team, helping with lifecycle campaigns, reactivation, loyalty, churn prevention and customer value optimisation.

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • A strong background in direct marketing, performance marketing and data‑driven campaign management for at least 5+ years.
  • Previous experience in online gambling, iGaming, casino, or gaming.
  • Solid experience managing marketing budgets, forecasting, re‑forecasting and performance reporting.
  • Previous experience in a multinational, international or matrix organisation.
  • Knowledge of the Italian regulated gambling market.
  • Highly analytical mindset, with the ability to translate data into clear business actions.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams, including CRM, product, BI, compliance, creative, media and central marketing teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing external partners, media agencies or sponsorship deals.
  • Hands‑on attitude: able to move from strategy to execution without relying only on the team.
  • Understanding of CRM, retention, lifecycle marketing, segmentation and customer value management.
  • Excellent presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Fluent English and Italian.
