Innovation Engineer

ppAs Innovation Engineer your mission will be to execute and advance innovation projects within the Innovation Laboratory Department, translating stakeholder inputs into validated technologies ready for transfer to the Product Platforms Department. /ppReporting directly to the Innovation Laboratory Manager, you will plan and drive projects across the full lifecycle, from idea generation and Proof of Concept (PoC) development to validation, development gates, and structured technology transfer. /ppYou will be in charge off design, assemble, and test prototypes, components, subsystems operating across mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic domains, perform data analysis and develop algorithms. /ppBy leveraging your expertise in laboratory testing, technology development, and data-driven innovation, you will accelerate the development of new solutions, enable effective technology transfer to the Product Platforms, and contribute directly to the organization’s strategic objectives and long-term competitive advantage. /ph3Key Responsibilities: /h3ulliCollect and consolidate inputs from internal and external stakeholders to generate innovative ideas and technology concepts. /liliPlan and execute innovation projects across the full lifecycle, from idea generation and Proof of Concept (PoC) validation through development gates and technology transfer to the technical office. /liliDesign and assemble components, Proofs of Concept, mock-ups, and functional prototypes, operating across mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic domains. /liliAnalyze data acquired from sensors and laboratory testing to identify patterns, correlations, and performance trends, and develop algorithms that generate value for stakeholders. /liliConduct laboratory testing to evaluate prototype or technology performance, reliability, and readiness. /liliCollaborate with external partners to research and assess alternative materials, components, and emerging technologies. /liliCollaborate closely with Coffee Beverages Community Team, Product Platforms Department, and cross-functional teams to gather insights and support technology development and validation. /liliProduce laboratory test reports and technical documentation to ensure effective knowledge sharing and technology transfer to the technical office. /li /ulh3Must Have: /h3ulliMaster’s Degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Biomedic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields. /liliEnglish knowledge: B2 level /liliMicrosoft Office package: good knowledge (especially Excel) /liliAt least 2 - 3 years of experience in the RD area or in the Laboratory of manufacturing companies with a medium–high level of innovation. /liliHands‑on experience in design, assembly, and testing of prototypes, components, and subsystems (mechanical, electronic, hydraulic). /liliStrong data analysis capabilities and experience in algorithm development. /liliKnowledge of data processing environment (e.g. Python) /li /ulh3Nice to have: /h3ulliExperience in the use of electronic prototyping tools (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.) and sensor integration /liliExperience in the use of Machine Learning (anomaly detection, regression, etc.) or AI techniques /liliExperience in signal analysis (FFT, etc.) /liliExperience in laboratory testing, experimental validation, and performance evaluation /liliKnowledge of 3D CAD software /li /ulpSimonelli Group is an equal opportunity employer.
